I am looking for comments about 12 volts air conditioning systems for trucks. Anything about performances, installation and reliability would be appreciated.

I saw one on an all electric "ZEV" S-10 a few weeks ago (no, they didn't crush them all, some were actually purchased from GM outright by a SW utility, then rotated out on auction). Didn't look like anything unusual, just a clutch/pulley off the electric drive. (unlike the heater, which burned diesel fuel)
If & when it breaks 90F here, I'll ask the owner (a client) & try to get a closer look if you like. R75TJ |

Ran into the owner Sunday, remarked a number of acc were 12v, so why not the A/C? Had run the A/C once (never broke 80's so far), thought it might be a Delco arrangement driven by a dedicated motor, w or w/o clutch.
Made arrangements to check it out further w/ a VOM. R75TJ |
