We have been using B-20 in all of our diesel units since 2000.
If starting with a new unit, you should not encounter any problems. If your going to start using biodiesel in an older unit that has had alot of standard diesel run through the system be prepared wioth extra fuel filters on hand when first converting. The bio will clean out all of the sludge and carbon that is in the existing system. Typically, it will only be a one time shot with having to change filters faster that normal. Again this may noty be a concern at all, but be prepared. We are experiancing longer engine life with boidiesel due to the lubricity of biodiesel. We were also told that we would not get as good of mileage with bio, but it seem as though the slipperyness of the bio makes up for the lower power rating. All said we have not noticed a difference. Overall we are very pleased with B-20 in the midwest We are using bio in every unit in our fleet. Firetrucks, Stationary generators, Dump trucks, construction equipment , agriculture equipmrnt, lawn and garden equipment. If it runs diesel, here if runs Bio-Diesel![]() |

We have been using B-20 in our fleet of 40 refuse trucks for 11/2 years now and we have had a good experience with the product. We to heard the rumors out there of plugging filters and low power. The funny thing is we did not have any of these problems until we got our first load of ULSD. We have not experienced any fuel system problems to speak of. It is my opinion that the the use of B-20 is a good move not only for the equipment but for the comunity as well. When you use this fuel you lower emmisions, use a fuel grown by American farmers and use 20% less foriegn oil.

For us the new requirement to use ULSD made the switch to B20 biodiesel a no-brainer. Even B5 would have worked, but our supplier was ready and willing to supply B20, so we made the leap with them and haven't looked back.

Looking for some folks who can share their experiences running B20 in fleet pick-up trucks, cars and utililty vhicles. These would be switched over. Everything these days seems to be about going green, but I need to be able to show this will be able to save us some money somewhere.

A biodiesel mixture for its entire U.S. truck fleet of more than 1,000 vehicles, which the company said would reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 75 million pounds annually. Trucks will use B20, which is a mixture of 20% biodiesel and 80% ultra-low-sulfur diesel.
